FABRIC
Durable and classic, 100% Cotton Drill. We recommend an initial firm fit, as our cotton relaxes with wear. It ís similar to true denim, where the fibres soften the more you wear it.
We make all our classic styles from a heavy duty 310 gsm 100% Fairtrade cotton drill, with a lightly brushed finished. This means it’s heavy duty, breathable and soft to the touch.
As this is natural material, this fabric does have its limitations: like most 100% cottons, with constant wear, tear and laundering, the cotton can weaken over time. So whilst our styles are designed for long term, day to day use, if you are kneeling on abrasive surfaces regularly, we suggest investing in some knee pads to avoid rips and holes.
We’ve designed this guide to make choosing your size as simple and accurate as possible, based on both our measurements and real customer fittings.
Our sizing follows Australian numerical sizing. As there’s no universal standard across brands, your size may vary elsewhere. This guide is the best way to find your fit in SÜK.
Find Your Size
1. Measure your body
Bust – measure around the fullest part of your chest. Keep the tape measure firm and straight, wrap it under your arms and across your shoulder blades.
Waist – measure around your natural waistline, the narrowest part of your torso that sits above your hips, where you would like the waistline of your new gear to sit.
Hips - measure the fullest part of your hips and bum.
2. Use your largest measurement
Match your measurements to the chart below using your largest measurement (this is usually your hips).
This ensures the garment fits comfortably across your body.
3. Consider how you like your fit & adjust for your body
Prefer a firm fit? You can size down
Prefer a relaxed fit? Size Up
Between sizes? Most customers choose the larger size for comfort and the ability to cinch the waist using the adjusters
Important: Where you wear your waistband
All our styles are designed to sit high on the waist (except our Mid-Rise Cargo Pants).
Wear them high-waisted → stay true to size or size down
Wear them mid or low rise → consider sizing up or measure where you would like them to sit and compare this measurement to the waist measurement in the chart
All our garments have waist adjusters, allowing the waist to be brought in by up to 10cm.
Real Fit Insights
From our in-store fittings and customer feedback:
Looking for a firm fit? You can size down in our Cotton Drill. This is because the fabric will relax with wear
In-between sizes? Most customers size up when between sizes for comfort, and the waist can be cinched in for a great fit.
Your height and torso length matter: taller customers may prefer more room through the rise and size up

Body Length for Suits (Short vs Long)
Some suits are available in short body and long body options. This refers to your torso length, not your height or inseam length.
If you usually get a wedgie in a jumpsuit, get the LONG BODY
Never had this issue before, get the SHORT BODY
Generally, if you are taller than 180cm, we recommend the Brumby or Roper suits with adjustable straps for extra torso length, and double-check the inseam length will work for you.
The SÜK team says: “Our staff like to size down from their pants sizing for a snug fit in our Brumby, Lagoon and Yard suits. Our Roper and Ringer suits are already fitted and true to size”
Garment Measurements
We provide individual garment measurements on every single one of our items! If you're someone who loves that extra detail, please have a read on the specific garment page. We also try to display the size each model is wearing and their measurements to help you.
These measurements are taken from the flattened physical garment, and then doubled to achieve an accurate measurement. Each chart is specific to each individual style. There is a variation of 1-2cm per garment, as our styles are prewashed and pre-shrunk before we send them to you.
You can use the garment measurements and measure an existing comfy item of clothing and compare it to our chart.
Fabric Notes
Drill: Durable and classic. We recommend an initial firm fit, as our cotton relaxes with wear. It’s similar to true denim, where the fibres soften the more you wear it. Washing will help bring it back to its original firmness.
Denim: Our denim offers the most reliable, true-to-size fit. It has a natural give that conforms to your body over time while maintaining its shape. If you are buying Denim, order your standard size.
Canvas: Built for heavy-duty protection, our Canvas is a thick, highly rigid material with zero stretch. It requires a break-in period. Fit Tip: If you need more room for bending and moving, or if you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up.
Ripstop: Lightweight but incredibly tough, Ripstop is a zero-stretch fabric. Because it does not yield around the hips or waist, we strongly recommend sizing up if you are between sizes or prefer a looser, more comfortable fit for active work.
Measuring Tips
Measure in your underwear where possible Keep the tape firm but not tight Ensure the tape sits flat
Style Note
All our pants are designed to be worn higher on your waist, no plumbers’ crack here. Wearing them lower on your hips may change how the size feels. Remember, the waist is adjustable on all our garments.

I love the Switch Apron for everyday wear. Although I returned it twice (too big both times, so I ended up ordering 2 sizes smaller than expected), I finally found a great fit. To note, it runs big. My hope now is to see it available in more colors. Olive green or turquoise maybe?? Thank you for a great product SUK.
Love this, especially the square neck on the back side. It does feel like it’s cut for someone a little shorter (I’m 5’7 ish). I’m usually a 10/12 in dresses and I went with size 1 for a more fitted drape. The waist and pockets sit a bit high on me, probably more suited to someone 5’4 or shorter. Overall so cute and I’ll wear it a lot!
I love the versatility of this piece. It can be worn on its own like a dress, or over clothing like a smock or apron. A note on sizing, I am an American size 8 with a 37” bust. I didn’t want this to be oversized so I waffled between the size 0 and size 1. Ultimately, I went with the size 0 and I am happy. It will fit over a t shirt very well, but would be too snug if I had more layers on. Since I don’t plan on wearing it over layers, I am keeping the size 0. The bust difference between the 0 and 1 was so big, I just didn’t want it to be sloppy. I’m excited to wear the heck out of this in the spring!
I purchased this item for an epic trip to Japan. I wore it all over Tokyo and Kamakura. They were perfect and awesome for the purpose. As soon as I get a photo I will submit it. Thank you!
Absolutely love the colour! It's as described, tough but soft, and able to be worn back to front if preferred for the different neckline. Perfect to throw on over any outfit to protect it and just get into your day.
I wear this switch a lot. From going sightseeing, casual cafe coffee dates, stageshows and concerts. This switch does it all and lets me play with the dog or get messy in the garden without worry. I love the option of straight or v neck front. I love the pockets. I love how I feel cute and feminine when I want to. The one issue I've had is that the hardware is quite thin and so 2 of the d rings bent. Now I just tie the waist cinch in a double knot... not really a huge issue but a bit startling when it happened at dog training. All in all, I love this switch!
Fabulous design & absolutely true to size. I bought a bit bigger (lots of things are smaller fitting & its easier to go bigger when purchasing on line) but it works perfectly for what I will use it for as an over apron for doing my crafts.
Overall I love this. I bought it as a dress but have been undoing the side buttons and throwing it over my shorts and top as it's easier to take on and off. It's perfect for yard work, art and cooking, but to sit for a cuppa it's pretty stiff and thick. I'd just rather put it on and off like on and off work time. Absolutely worth the money, super durable and well constructed. I will be getting more soon!
LOVE this! I ended up gambling a little on whether I should buy a size 2 or 3 (I ended up getting a size 2) as I usually am an 18 in SUK but it came and it fit perfectly! (I would certainly say I'm a small 18, and I also am in the process of trying to lose weight so I preferred to size down.) It's pretty flattering too, and I wore it out all day to the zoo with no issues. I prefer to wear it with the pockets in front when I'm wearing it alone, but when I layer it with a tee I prefer the neckline of the back so I just flip it around! So it's super versatile too <3
My shield maiden apron. The cut, quality, and colour are a chef's kiss! I've only worn it for hobbies over shorts or pants so far, but it would also be a really cute dress in cool weather with my skivvy and tights. I'm not really a dress person, but I will give this a go in dress mode because it fits so beautifully, and the sturdy fabric feels secure.
Great fit and well made. It’s perfect for my various hobbies. Pockets are good size and the adjustable strap works well. Very happy with this purchase.
I am a 12-14 so was a bit unsure what size to get. I got a Size 1 and for me it fits just right. Love the colour, can wear it on its own or as a pinafore style. Material is not heavy or thick. Very comfy, think this will be getting lots of wear!!
I absolutely love this dress! I get so many compliments every time I wear it! It’s so comfortable and I don’t feel like I have to suck my tummy in or worry as it’s so figure flattering!
But the main reason why I’m writing this review is I originally thought I put it on backwards so switch it around, only to discover i prefer how it looks backwards! I’ve since found out it’s actually reversible! I’m not sure that’s written in the description or if I missed it! Anyway if it feels weird - turn it around!! You’re welcome haha :-)
PS I’m a 12-14 so was really worried about the sizing but I got the smaller one 10-12 and it’s perfect
I love this fun colour and the variety of ways you can wear this apron. So cute. I am a hippy ten with a 12dd cup. Sadly the size 1 was too big, hips and bust. I like a more fitted approach.
Love the Switch in Hunter Green. It's really good quality and will be great to hold my tools in the garden. I got the 1 as I'm small busted (size 12) but normally a 14 down bottom and this is great. It doesn't pop open when I bend over either. A bit gapey up top as I'm smaller up there but really comfy. Can't wait to wear it around the place!
LOVING this smock dress so much I ordered another one straight away!
It's great for teaching in the tropics. Plenty of room, great colour and cute pockets.
Love this - sturdy enough to protect my clothes, smart enough to wear in front of customers. The button up sides are genius! The size was perfect to layer clothes underneath, I wouldn't wear without pants or shorts so this suited me well. Love it - would get another in a different colour.
Love it but I’ll have to alter the bust area .. just a bit too gapey at the sides .. i am going to try and put some darts in .. well, a friend is, as I’m not a sewer .. maybe a suggestion a couple of studs to give a better fit. It’s just my tum and bum are a bit bigger, otherwise I am looking forward to wearing and trying to wear it out .. ☺️🙏
I bought size 2 and am usually around a 12-14, and it’s perfect! I bought it for work in an office (I know but I love pinafore styles!!) and it’s perfect. The pockets are so helpful and I’ve had so many compliments hehe. Also bought Dingo switch size 2 and LOVE
I first saw this when it was part of a small run a year or so ago. but I left it too late and missed out., so I was very happy to get a second chance this time around. I LOVE IT. So well made, the canvas is sturdy and feels great and I know it's going to get even better with wear.) I'm going to get the other colours asap.
I wear this as an artists apron and love it so far. Easy to get on/off over clothes and enough coverage that I don’t get covered in paint. The gorgeous colour helps too as it’s very much in line with my palette, so that’s a bonus.
I’m a size 12 with plenty of curves and feel there’s plenty of room for layers underneath in winter.
Highly recommend.
I find the tunic or apron is perfect for getting out in the garden with my garden tool belt over the top, heavy duty and can unclip sides when wearing tights or pants. Also works in summer on its own - easy fit and cool solid material.
I found the sizing of this unit different to the overalls and pants so ended up with a size too big - which i have handed on to a friend - and had to buy the next size down.
Great for garden wear - summer and winter.
It’s a bit big, but I think the smaller size would be a bit tight for me and wouldn’t give enough movement. It’s a good weight, feels good for a pottery apron. Good sized pockets too!
