Our commitment to Ethics, Transparency and Community.
Every SÜK garment is designed to be durable, comfortable, streamlined and versatile: workwear that translates from the worksite to the streets. These are staples you can literally do anything in. Our clothes are designed, prototyped, road tested and fine-tuned with our small team in Melbourne, Australia. We manufacture with 2 excellent partners in Pakistan working at the forefront of ethical & ecological production practices.
We use 100% Fairtrade cotton from transparent supply chains. Our Fabric Mill in Lahore adheres to The Standard 100 by OKEO-TEX — one of the world’s most progressive standards, and a scrupulous regulatory body. This means SÜK’s fabric never includes chemicals harmful to your skin, nor does its production have any harmful ecological impact. In sum: SÜK’s fabric is human and earth-friendly.
Our garments are assembled in a family run factory which adheres to standards set by the amfori BSCI System Manual. Compliance ensures that SÜK clothing is made in a workplace that is non-discriminatory, does not use child labour, has special protection for young workers, allows for collective bargaining and freedom of association, has fair working hours, pays the same or more than the local minimum wage, offers secure employment, and uses sustainable methods in all stages of production (you can learn more about these standards here).
Fair Trade Cotton
The first thing you notice about a SÜK garment is the fabric: it is prewashed to prevent shrinkage, and surprisingly soft. A lightly brushed, 100% Fairtrade cotton drill that feels like an old favourite. At 310 gsm our garments are built to last, & will accrue character with age. Every stage of garment manufacturing has been conducted to the highest ethical standard: from fabric sourcing to factory production, right down to the small details.
Being a new clothing label, we are well aware of the high volume of fabric wastage that is created by the fashion industry. We are determined not to be a part of that trend. This is why we work towards creating classic tran-seasonal designs that will stand the test of time. This is also why we have partnered with UPPAREL, a local company committed to reducing the number of textiles that end up in landfill. We donate any garments beyond repair to be upcycled into new, quality, useful products.
