Our Fabric
We make all our classic styles from a heavy duty 310 gsm 100% Fairtrade cotton drill, with a lightly brushed finished. This means it’s heavy duty, breathable and soft to the touch.
As this is natural material, this fabric does have its limitations: like most 100% cottons, with constant wear, tear and laundering, the cotton can weaken over time. So whilst our styles are designed for long term, day to day use, if you are kneeling on abrasive surfaces regularly, we suggest investing in some knee pads to avoid rips and holes.
We’ve designed this guide to make choosing your size as simple and accurate as possible, based on both our measurements and real customer fittings.
Our sizing follows Australian numerical sizing. As there’s no universal standard across brands, your size may vary elsewhere. This guide is the best way to find your fit in SÜK.
Find Your Size
1. Measure your body
Bust – measure around the fullest part of your chest. Keep the tape measure firm and straight, wrap it under your arms and across your shoulder blades.
Waist – measure around your natural waistline, the narrowest part of your torso that sits above your hips, where you would like the waistline of your new gear to sit.
Hips - measure the fullest part of your hips and bum.
2. Use your largest measurement
Match your measurements to the chart below using your largest measurement (this is usually your hips).
This ensures the garment fits comfortably across your body.
3. Consider how you like your fit & adjust for your body
Prefer a firm fit? You can size down
Prefer a relaxed fit? Size Up
Between sizes? Most customers choose the larger size for comfort and the ability to cinch the waist using the adjusters
Important: Where you wear your waistband
All our styles are designed to sit high on the waist (except our Mid-Rise Cargo Pants).
Wear them high-waisted → stay true to size or size down
Wear them mid or low rise → consider sizing up or measure where you would like them to sit and compare this measurement to the waist measurement in the chart
All our garments have waist adjusters, allowing the waist to be brought in by up to 10cm.
Real Fit Insights
From our in-store fittings and customer feedback:
Looking for a firm fit? You can size down in our Cotton Drill. This is because the fabric will relax with wear
In-between sizes? Most customers size up when between sizes for comfort, and the waist can be cinched in for a great fit.
Your height and torso length matter: taller customers may prefer more room through the rise and size up

Body Length for Suits (Short vs Long)
Some suits are available in short body and long body options. This refers to your torso length, not your height or inseam length.
If you usually get a wedgie in a jumpsuit, get the LONG BODY
Never had this issue before, get the SHORT BODY
Generally, if you are taller than 180cm, we recommend the Brumby or Roper suits with adjustable straps for extra torso length, and double-check the inseam length will work for you.
The SÜK team says: “Our staff like to size down from their pants sizing for a snug fit in our Brumby, Lagoon and Yard suits. Our Roper and Ringer suits are already fitted and true to size”
Garment Measurements
We provide individual garment measurements on every single one of our items! If you're someone who loves that extra detail, please have a read on the specific garment page. We also try to display the size each model is wearing and their measurements to help you.
These measurements are taken from the flattened physical garment, and then doubled to achieve an accurate measurement. Each chart is specific to each individual style. There is a variation of 1-2cm per garment, as our styles are prewashed and pre-shrunk before we send them to you.
You can use the garment measurements and measure an existing comfy item of clothing and compare it to our chart.
Fabric Notes
Drill: Durable and classic. We recommend an initial firm fit, as our cotton relaxes with wear. It’s similar to true denim, where the fibres soften the more you wear it. Washing will help bring it back to its original firmness.
Denim: Our denim offers the most reliable, true-to-size fit. It has a natural give that conforms to your body over time while maintaining its shape. If you are buying Denim, order your standard size.
Canvas: Built for heavy-duty protection, our Canvas is a thick, highly rigid material with zero stretch. It requires a break-in period. Fit Tip: If you need more room for bending and moving, or if you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up.
Ripstop: Lightweight but incredibly tough, Ripstop is a zero-stretch fabric. Because it does not yield around the hips or waist, we strongly recommend sizing up if you are between sizes or prefer a looser, more comfortable fit for active work.
Measuring Tips
Measure in your underwear where possible Keep the tape firm but not tight Ensure the tape sits flat
Style Note
All our pants are designed to be worn higher on your waist, no plumbers’ crack here. Wearing them lower on your hips may change how the size feels. Remember, the waist is adjustable on all our garments.

10 is usually my size and I would say if anything these run a touch larger, but still comfortable and in no way feeling voluminous on me. I’m 178cm tall so the legs could be more generous in length, as I feel they sit awkwardly on my ankle especially with a boot or full shoe (I was trying them out cuffed in the photo).
Love the Brumby suit! I wear a size smaller than I usually wear in Station Pants and they are perfect. Super comfy, look good and I know I will wear them to death!
Love all of my SUK gear (and I have a lot now). These are comfy, easy to wear and look great. I always get compliments when I wear them. My only issue with the brumby suits are the legs are too short for me. I’ve dropped the hems but would be great if they were a little longer.
These overalls have a great fit, and they have adjustable waist buttons. They are comfy, look great, are an awesome true to size fit and practical. They are my first and won't be my last!!
I love the Brumby overalls. The only issue I would raise is that the quality can tend to be a bit hit and miss. Specifically, I've noticed the seams are sometimes a bit rough & the chest pocket on all the pairs I've bought are crooked. However in saying that, I still love them & as I wear them for work it those things don't bother me too much.
Amazing! Love them! Wear them to work and for everyday. I hope to buy more! Thankyou. Well worth every cent xx thankyou im a size 22 but the size 20 is generous and awsome and top quality
Absolutely love my SUK dungarees. I have one in every colour but green… they are next on my list. Comfortable easy to wear. I get comments everytime I wear them.
Absolutely love love love these I own 4 pair and they are the most comfortable piece of clothing I own. I get so many compliments every time I wear them….
I’m a size 10 as a rule but wearing the brumby in a size 8 and the fit is perfect! These are by far the most comfortable and practical overalls I’ve ever worn, I’m an artist who runs after school art classes. The front pocket was a must to hold my phone. I especially love having an extra button at the sides so I can have a more fitted waist or slightly looser. Great quality, ethically manufactured really love SUK work wear
Growing people, gardens, art works and education-I need pockets and flexibillity! SUK great job! supporting AUSSIE women with a great fit. I understand You have to uphold your boundaries, however the only thing that would improve your product for me is triangles of fabric that make the overall a long skirt. Thats how I am most comfortable but I also need pockets.
I love these overalls!!! They are so cute, I really appreciate the built in adjustability of these. The fabric seems sturdy if a little thin. I did exchange a size 14 for a size 12 quite easily and am happy with the fit, for reference I am 5'5" and 190lbs.
Shipping was very quick, it fits great, the colors great, the material feels good. I loveeee the adjustability so I can choose a looser more comfortable fit or I can choose to feel snatched if I want to!
I own a couple of the SUK products - the Brumby suit runs big. I did wash in hot and dried high heat and that tightened it up a bit. I am a farmer of a certain age, so I will be happy it has room for my tools and for bending over to cut flowers and produce with relaxed fit in all of the right places.
The fabric is so comfortable, the ability to adjust the waist is fantastic and there is so much room in the pockets. I plan to get more in other colours.
I'm a barista and (shockingly) my job is very physical! I've been looking for sturdy clothes and these overalls are amazing! Love the pockets, buttons, and adjustable straps! Will purchase more in the future.
Absolutely love my Brumby suit so much I just purchased the Roper suit as well. I look so classy working on the farm that I wish more people saw me. I feel an obsession coming on.
I love these overalls, I brought them for working around the house, but I love them so much I wear them even when I’m not working, painting or gardening!
By far the most comfortable work gear I’ve worn, great for the desk and ins ladder with all the pockets I need for pens, tape measure, gloves and phone!
I always have jobs to do (my pleasure) around my daughter’s home when I visit but also like to visit her favourite spots in her neighbourhood with her so I find this outfit very easy to dress up while still being ready for cooking/gardening. The adjustable fit for a grandma like me is much appreciated :) I had heaps of compliments for my outfit today too.
honestly worth the money. fit, features, and material are all great for my manual labor job. had a small default in the straps but after a quick email exchange got the problem fixed to my liking. can’t wait to purchase the pants!
